It was across two boxes. I never had the guts to drop for the lifetime sub in fear the box would die at any moment. The first box had its modem die, and that's why I upgraded to a Series 2.

Comcast gave me the 6214, and I am looking forward to the TiVo software on it. I miss the TiVo software, but, I enjoy HD and I enjoy dual tuners even more.

Never anger the TiVo gods. ;-)

5 years? Is that one box or upgrades? Lifetime would've definitely been worth it on one box - even a couple with each in use at least 2 years...

What DVR did Comcast give you - Motorola 6214 or a Scientific Atlanta 8300?

If you got the Motorola you should have an option for TiVo software next year.
